Xie Xuming, Professor/doctoral director of Tsinghua University
he was sent by the Ministry of education to study in Japan in 1981. He graduated from Shinshu University in March, 1985, and received master's and doctor's degrees from Tokyo University of technology in March, 1987 and 1990. He has worked in the Department of chemical engineering of Tsinghua University since 1992 and was promoted to Professor in 1999. In 1999, 2001 and 2005, he was a visiting professor at Tokyo Institute of technology, University of Minnesota and Central University of Japan. Recently, he has been mainly engaged in the modification and assembly of nano materials and the application of composite systems, high-strength and high tensile polymer hydrogels, reactive grafting, phase structure control of multi-component polymer systems, and the restricted condensed state structure of polymers. He has published more than 230 papers in domestic and foreign journals, of which more than 220 have been included by SCI. It has been granted 22 invention patents, including 3 international patents. The first and the Twelfth "Feng Xingde polymer prize" of "polymer" magazine were awarded by the visiting scholar fund of the Japanese Society for the promotion of Science (JSPS), the Distinguished Visiting Professor of the Department of chemical engineering and materials of the University of Minnesota, and Elsevier.
